One Stair, Two Stair, Red Stair, Blue Stair: Surviving Epic Universe on Foot
Epic Universe is amazing. The lands are immersive, the rides are fun, and the details beg you to stop and stare. But as amazing as the park is, there’s one feature you’ll almost immediately: stairs. So. Many. Stairs.
To be fair, Epic Universe is technically disability-friendly. There are elevators for every major elevation change, and Universal has clearly put in real effort to meet accessibility standards. The problem isn’t access, it’s time. Because with the park designed on so many tiers, you may find yourself spending a surprising chunk of your day waiting for elevators instead of exploring.
The park’s vertical design creates some stunning visuals, but it also means that getting from point A to point B can feel like a choose-your-own-adventure where every choice ends in “Please wait for the next elevator.”
So yes, Epic Universe lives up to its name, both in spectacle and in step count. Whether that’s charming, exhausting, or a little of both depends on your day (and your knees).
