Why I’m Excited About Epic Universe — And What I’m Really Looking For When I Visit
/If you’ve spent even five minutes in a theme park-loving corner of the internet lately, you’ve probably heard: Epic Universe is open! Even as someone who’s been to all seven continents, I still get giddy walking through the gates of a theme park — I’ve already booked my trip for November…. Have you?
Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge blew my mind! It was so IMMERSIVE, UNBELIEVABLY so.
With brand-new lands like Super Nintendo World, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and more, Epic Universe promises to be exactly that: EPIC.
And I know it will be! Having already gotten to experience Super Nintendo World in California, I am thrilled it has finally made its way to the East Coast. Growing up playing Mario Kart on my N64, when I first stepped into this land it felt like I was stepping into my childhood. I can’t wait to hear what my clients think after their day at Epic.
But as a travel advisor, when I visit in November here’s what I’m really watching for.
When I visit a new destination — whether it’s the remote Uluru or a freshly minted theme park in Florida — I always ask the same questions:
Is it easy to navigate? Who does this appeal to? How’s the food (really)? And what are the little things that could make or break the experience?
So while I’m obviously thrilled to ride Donkey Kong Mine-Cart Madness and wander through the Ministry of Magic like I’ve just stepped into the movies, I’ll also be taking notes on:
Ease of transportation: How seamless is it to get to Epic Universe from the other Universal Orlando parks and hotels? Will you need a rental car, or is the shuttle system smooth and intuitive?
Crowd flow & lines: Are the queues smartly designed? Are there virtual line options or single rider lines that help beat the crowds?
Food variety: Is the dining experience inclusive of all diets (gluten-free, vegetarian, etc.)? Is it just theme park pizza and burgers, or are there creative and culturally inspired options?
Rest zones & accessibility: Are there places to sit, relax, cool off, and regroup? How well does the park cater to guests with mobility or sensory needs?
Overall vibe: Does it feel magical and fresh, or overwhelming and overstimulating? (Big difference!)
What this means for you — especially if you’re planning a visit in 2025 or beyond.
If you are someone who loves a little thrill and a well-planned itinerary, I’ll be your boots-on-the-ground guide. I’ll share the magic and the logistics — the fun photo ops and where to find a quiet moment with a coffee.
I have already been looking at reviews, taking training, and watching TikTok’s and Youtube videos. But this November, I’ll also be exploring every inch of Epic Universe so I can help you decide if it’s worth the hype, how to do it smart, and what to skip or savor. If you're already planning your own trip (or just love living vicariously through theme park deep-dives), stay tuned — I’ve got you covered.
Until then, may your countdown clocks be short and your packing lists be fun. ✨
